Hi! My name is Susie Kurstin and I am so excited to start another great year at Running Brook Elementary School!
This is my 16th year teaching, and my 4th at RBES. I have taught K-3, but Kindergarten is my favorite! I love the learning that takes place in Kindergarten and am excited about what this year has in store. There will be time to play, to learn, to explore, to discover, to wonder, to create and you will be amazed by what your child will learn!
I hold a BA in Theatre Arts from Marymount Manhattan College and a M.S.T. from Pace University. I was part of the NYC Teaching Fellows Program and previously taught in Bushwick Brooklyn, and in Concord, NC before moving to Maryland. I grew up in both Michigan and North Carolina, but am happy to now call Maryland my home.
In my free time you can find me reading, cooking, taking a Zumba class, checking out a museum or at the library with my daughters Rebekah and Rachel. My husband, Randy, teaches 8th grade language arts at Wilde Lake Middle School, right down the road. I love being a part of such an amazing community and school and know this year will be the best yet!
